Gender, Climate Change, and Nutrition Integration Initiative (GCAN) Ethiopia

Project description

We are excited to welcome you to the GCAN-Ethiopia page! Here, we showcase our collaboration with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) on the Gender, Climate Change, and Nutrition Integration Initiative (GCAN). This groundbreaking initiative focuses on embedding gender equality, women’s empowerment, and nutrition-sensitive approaches into Ethiopia’s climate change policies and strategies for sustainable agri-food systems.

At FSS, we are proud to lead efforts in policy engagement and capacity-building to empower key stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and researchers. Our work involves establishing multi-stakeholder platforms, hosting thematic dialogues and national conferences, conducting capacity assessments, and delivering tailored training programs to drive inclusive and evidence-based policy reforms.

Explore this page to discover how we are contributing to gender-responsive and nutrition-sensitive climate action, fostering resilience, and promoting equity in Ethiopia’s agri-food systems.
