FSS successfully holds its 24th annual General Assembly
Forum for Social Studies (FSS) has successfully held its General Assembly (GA) on Saturday, 19th March 2022 at its head office in Addis Ababa.
In the course of the GA, FSS’ and its income-generating wing TKE’s Annual Activity Reports as well as their externally audited Financial Reports for the period January 1st to December 31st 2021 were presented, discussed, and finally unanimously approved. Furthermore, two persons, namely, Prof. Bahru Zewde and Ms Tiruwork Tizazu were elected to the Executive Board in order to replace two outgoing members, Dr. Alula Pankhurst (as Chair) and Ms Mihret Habte. The GA expressed its gratefulness and appreciation to Dr. Alula and Ms Mihret for the tireless and capable service they rendered during the last six years.
Dr. Yeraswork Admassie, who is to finish his first four-year term as Executive Director at the end of May 2022 was unanimously reelected to serve a second term following the Boards recommendation.
Moreover, the GA has instructed the Executive Board to see to it that FSS’ Strategic Plan for the period 2022-2026 is prepared and implemented ASAP; and a task-force composed of three members (Drs Ayalew Gebre, Muluemebet Zenebe and Ezana Amdework) who volunteered for the task shall work on ways and means of overcoming the challenges currently faced by the organization.
