As part of the ongoing dialogue series being organized by FSS under the theme of Ethiopia’s Democratic Reforms Actions, Implications and Directions, Forum for Social Studies (FSS) organized the fifth dialogue event on the specific topic on Ethiopia’s Foreign Policy on the Horn of Africa and The Gulf on Thursday, 24 October 2019 from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at Azzeman Hotel.
Two discussion papers dealing with the issue were presented; First by His Excellency Ambassador Hiruy Amanuel and the second by Dr. Asnake Kefale, a senior Lecturer from the Addis Ababa University (AAU).
Professor Bahiru Zewdie, a renowned historian and one of the founders of FSS chaired the discussion. Both presenters provided theoretical aspects of International relations and a historical background of Ethiopia’ foreign policy in general and on the Horn and Gulf States in general.
After the presentations, a live discussion was held by the attending participants during which important inputs to enrich the papers were forwarded in the form of suggestions, comments and questions.
Around 50 representatives of political parties, higher learning institutions, civil society organizations and the media attended the dialogue event.
The discussion received much attention and due coverage by the state media and the independent media alike (electronic and print).
The presentations and the discussions held after that will be uploaded on you tube and will be linked with FSS official website.
